Comprehensively and intensively applying modern international standard technologies, techniques, machines and protocols, the Hepatitis and Fatty Liver Center, Tam Anh General Hospital System deploys screening, early detection and highly effective treatment of liver diseases, preventing cirrhosis and liver cancer.
The World Health Organization (WHO) warns that the incidence of hepatitis and fatty liver globally as well as in Vietnam is increasing and getting younger. In addition to viral hepatitis B and C - the main causes of dangerous liver diseases, fatty liver is increasing alarmingly. About 30% of the world's population has fatty liver disease.
Master, Doctor, CKII Le Thanh Quynh Ngan, Head of the Hepatitis and Fatty Liver Center, and Head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, Tam Anh General Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City, said that in Vietnam, the fatty liver situation is at an alarming level. In the past 10 years, the rate of overweight and obesity, including children and adults, has nearly doubled. This is a group of people at high risk of fatty liver. Of these, about 20% have fatty liver causing chronic hepatitis (MASLD) with the risk of complications leading to decompensated cirrhosis and liver cancer if not detected and treated promptly.
In addition, alcohol, toxins, autoimmune diseases, metabolic disorders, unbalanced diets or genetic factors... are also factors that increase the risk of liver diseases.

Liver diseases often progress silently and without obvious symptoms. Patients often detect them late, many people are hospitalized when the disease is in a severe stage. Hepatitis or fatty liver can lead to liver fibrosis and liver cancer if not treated promptly. According to statistics from the Ministry of Health, each year, Vietnam records 26,418 new cases of liver cancer, 25,272 deaths - the highest mortality rate among all types of cancer.
"The Hepatitis and Fatty Liver Center at Tam Anh Hospital was established to best serve the needs of screening, early detection, accurate and highly effective treatment of liver diseases with international standard protocols, preventing the risk of cirrhosis, liver cancer, improving health and quality of life for patients", said Dr. Quynh Ngan.
The Center belongs to the leading modern General Hospital System in Vietnam, fully equipped with equipment, imaging, specialized testing, treatment regimens according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health. At the same time, the treatment process has close coordination between specialized departments right at the hospital such as: Diagnostic Imaging & Interventional Radiology; Gastroenterology - Liver, Bile, Pancreas; Endocrinology; Emergency; Internal Medicine; Nutrition..., help coordinate comprehensive treatment, bringing high efficiency to patients.
Hepatitis diagnosis
Patients are being examined for liver images using the modern 3 Tesla MRI system to help evaluate and accurately detect liver diseases
3 Tesla MRI system, 768-slice CT, 1975-slice CT, 100,000-slice CT, 4D Voluson P8 ultrasound machines, leading modern testing machines, Erytra Eflexis automatic hematology analyzer... help ensure very fast and accurate diagnosis, evaluation, and detection of liver abnormalities (viruses causing hepatitis A, B, C, D, fatty liver level, liver fibrosis...).
In particular, Tam Anh General Hospital conducts in-depth testing for viral hepatitis, especially hepatitis D, opening up opportunities for highly effective treatment for patients with concurrent hepatitis B and D. For example, the hepatitis D (HDV) antibody test helps detect the presence of HDV antibodies in the blood; the HDV RNA test helps assess the HDV viral load in the body, thereby determining the level of disease activity. Liver ultrasound examination
Liver ultrasound helps to accurately diagnose liver diseases as well as the elasticity of liver tissue
